CDC CONCUSSION RESOURCE LINKS

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has provided online resources to increase concussion awareness.  These resources can be found at http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/headsup/.

Welcome to the North Allegheny Athletic Training website.  This site has been designed to explain our services, introduce our staff, and provide information and resources on issues that are current and relevant to sports medicine. 

Concussions are significant brain injuries that often occur.  Below is a video that describes some of the causes and effects of concussions, and how is it essential to react accordingly when a concussion occurrence is known.

If a player returns to action before symptoms of a concussion have completely subsided, they are more susceptible to a second concussion.  The video below features the effects of Second Impact Syndrome and how it impacted a former high school and college football player.
