Not since 2014 had North Allegheny lost to a WPIAL opponent, but that lengthy winning streak came to an end on Wednesday afternoon with a narrow 185-188 loss to Fox Chapel at Pittsburgh North Golf Course. The defeat concluded an astonishing string of victories against WPIAL foes that nearly spanned a full five years. The last time NA had suffered defeat, prior to Wednesday, was on September 11, 2014 by a 187-192 decision to Shady Side Academy.

Against Fox Chapel, it was senior Isabella Walter, who carded the best score for North Allegheny with a 41. Senior Esha Vaidya tallied a 47, while Olivia Schenk and Sissi Hai each posted a 50. Fox Chapel was led by Nina Busch, who notched a low score of 37.

North Allegheny sits at 4-1 overall following the non-section loss. The Tigers look to bounce back with a road match against Mars in section play on Thursday.
