NA tops defending champion Peters Township in non-section battle
North Allegheny hosted the Peters Township Indians on Wednesday afternoon at Diamond Run Golf Course. Peters Township came in as the three-time defending WPIAL champions and the two-time defending PIAA champions but that did not deter the the Tigers as they defeated the defending champs by a score of 170-176.
Kayli Dings led the way for North Allegheny shooting a 36. Taylor Rittler fired a 43 while Omisa Shah added a 44. Kirsten Karlovits carded a 47 while Grace Means contributed with a 51.
Ellie Benson was the top scorer for Peters Township and had the low score on the day putting up a 34.
North Allegheny improves to 2-0-1 overall. The Tigers return to section play today when they travel to Hiland Golf Course to take on the Butler Golden Tornado. First tee time is 1:30 p.m.
