Former North Allegheny girls’ soccer standout and current Gannon defender Maddie Miller was honored by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference this week.

The freshman was named PSAC Defensive Player of the Week after she scored her first collegiate goal and contributed strong play for the Golden Knights.

Miller helped anchor a Gannon back line that allowed just one goal in two matches, including a 3–0 shutout victory over Slippery Rock in a clash between the top two teams in the PSAC West. She also scored her first collegiate goal, a long-distance strike that landed at No. 4 on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 Plays.
