It was total dominance from the opening whistle as the Lady Tigers fired on all cylinders to dismantle Deer Lakes this afternoon. Combining an explosive red-zone offense with a solid relentless defense, the Tigers walked off the field with a commanding 39-7 win.
Standout Performances:
The Tigers’ roster was packed with playmakers today, leading to a balanced and overwhelming attack:
Senior Maddie Williams: A force of nature in the red zone. Williams made the most of her touches, scoring three touchdowns on just five carries. She was equally relentless on the other side of the ball, racking up five tackles.
Senior Luci Zagacki: Zagacki was a nightmare for the Deer Lakes quarterback, snagging two interceptions and adding two touchdowns to the scoreboard.
Senior Vange Balouris: Providing the defensive backbone, Balouris recorded a team-high six tackles and an interception, while also finding the end zone for a touchdown of her own.
Freshman Macy Sundgren completed seven of 10 passes and also carried the ball four times to put the Tigers in scoring position.
Team Scoring: The offensive onslaught was rounded out by senior Mia Bosely and sophomore Lily Broms, who both fought their way into the end zone to help seal the victory.
The team has a big week, with four games in five days. Next game is Monday, March 23 at Fox Chapel.
