Ravi Desai Selected To WPGA Williamson Cup Team

It has been a busy summer for recent NA grad and golf alum Ravi Desai.
In June, Desai finished tied for eighth in the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association Open Championship Qualifying, which earned him a spot in the field as an amateur. That same month, the future Penn State golfer finished tied for third in the WPGA Spring Stroke Play Championship.
In the 126th WPGA Amateur Championship, Desai ended tied for sixth.
As the calendar flipped to July, Desai reached the finals of the 52nd C.R. Miller Match Play event at Hannastown Golf Club. He then took part in the 123rd WPGA Open Championship at Willowbrook Country Club, finishing tied for 30th overall and tied for 19th among amateurs.
Sunday, the WPGA named Desai to the Frank B. Fuhrer Jr. Team, which will represent the WPGA next week at the 62nd Williamson Cup in New Jersey.

The Williamson Cup brings together many of the top junior players from the Northeast and Canada to compete in a 36-hole, college-style competition, as players represent their local Golf Associations.
The event will be held at The Knickerbocker Club in Tenafly, New Jersey, on August 10-11.
