Two former members of the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team are continuing to excel at the next level as players for Slippery Rock University.

Libby Earley was named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year and All-PSAC First Team, while Sophia Palermo also took home All-PSAC First Team West honors.

The NA grads were two of seven players to earn all-conference awards for the team this fall.

Earley becomes the first Rock athlete to win a PSAC West major award since Rachel Edge and Madison Johnson in 2019. The junior led The Rock defense to the fourth-best goals-against average at .74 goals allowed per game. That mark also puts SRU 50th in the nation in GAA. On the offensive side of the ball, Earley registered a career-high three assists, which also marks a career-high in goal contributions in a season (3).

Palermo was third on Slippery Rock with six goals. She also added two assists for 14 points on the season, while taking 50 shots and landing 24 shots on goal. The senior started all 19 games this season, playing a total of 1,164 minutes (61.3/game). This is Palermo’s second career All-PSAC honor after earning All-PSAC West Second Team in 2025.
