Avery Anderson Wins PAC Newcomer of the Week With Grove City Women’s Lacrosse

Former North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse standout Avery Anderson has earned a weekly award as a member of the Grove City Women’s Lacrosse program.

The freshman was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week on Monday.

Anderson helped Grove City to two conference wins last week by posting five total goals and four assists. She had three goals, three assists, four ground balls and three caused turnovers Tuesday in Grove City’s 20-1 triumph over Allegheny. Saturday, she had two goals and an assist in the Wolverines’ 14-10 win at Westminster.

The midfielder currently ranks fifth on the team with 15 total goals and sixth with 23 points.

Grove City currently sits in first place for the PAC Women’s Lacrosse Standings with a 4-0 record and is 8-3 overall. The Wolverines are currently riding an eight-game winning streak. Last season, Grove City won the PAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

Anderson was second on the team in goals last season for the Tigers, registering 24 markers and finished her career with 87 total goals. In 2023, she was fourth on the team in goals with 21. In 2024, she was third in scoring with 32 markers. Anderson was named All-Section Honorable Mention for her efforts in the 2024 campaign.
