Bowling sweeps Nazareth Prep in crucial section match

Boys
The NA boys swept Nazareth Prep, finishing the night with a total pin count win of 2,308 – 1,797. The Tigers won game 1 by a score of 754-556, riding a team-high game of 182 from Aiden Austin. Game 2 was a much tighter contest, with Nazareth Prep having the lead through the first 5 frames. It was at that point that NA pulled away en route to a 760-645 win, led again by Austin with a 181-game. The Tigers continued that momentum into game 3, winning by a score of 794-596 which included high games from Sai Gunapalli (182) and Liam Cooper (179). The high series for the match was Austin with a 490 over 3 games.
This marks 4 straight wins for the Tigers, improving their section record to 4-1 and pulling them into a 3-way tie for first place. Next week includes 2 important section contests, with the Tigers traveling to Moon for an away match on 1/13 and hosting North Hills for Senior Night on 1/14.
Girls
The NA girls entered the match shorthanded only having four girls while Nazareth Prep had a full five-girl squad. The Tigers won the first two games before falling in the final game by 15 pins but still won the match 5-2. North Allegheny won the total pin count 1310-1220. Jordan Phillips rolled her new high game of 170 and had a high series of 474. Bella Mays added a 128-game and a 306 series.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Paradise Lanes to battle Moon at 3 p.m.
