Christian Duckworth Sets Pole Vault Record At CMU, Named UAA Athlete of the Week
(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore Christian Duckworth of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events. The sophomore earns the honor following his performance at the West Virginia Stan Romanoski Open this past Saturday.
Duckworth placed third in the pole vault clearing the bar at a school record height of 4.70 meters. The old school record was 4.66 meters set by Tommy Mansfield in 2017. His height is currently tops in the UAA and tied for third nationally.
Next up for the Tartans is their home invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 22-23. Events kickoff on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
