Cole Young Leads Offense In Mariners Win Over Rangers
By: Jared Barton
Following his MLB debut at the end of May, former North Allegheny baseball standout and Mariners 2022 first-round pick Cole Young has stayed with the big league ball club this summer.
Thursday night’s game against the Texas Rangers proved to be one of the matchups in which he had the biggest offensive influence.
The rookie delivered at multiple points in the contest, including a record-tying home run and an RBI triple. Young finished the game 2-4 from the plate with two RBI and two runs scored.
In the fifth inning, the second baseman blasted a home run 456 feet into the upper deck of right field at T-Mobile Park to double Seattle’s lead.
