Four School Records Fall At TSTCA Meet #5

It was a record-setting day for the North Allegheny indoor track and field team on Saturday at TSTCA Meet #5 at Edinboro University. In the final meet ahead of the TSTCA championships next week, the Tigers ran at a break-neck pace and secured six gold medals and broke four school records in the process.

In the Distance Medley Relay, junior Robin Kucler, junior Elizabeth Pizon, senior Eva Kynaston and junior Wren Kucler broke the North Allegheny record with a time of 12:16.00 for a first-place finish. The quartet of sophomore Mackenzie Winning, sophomore Maya Currie, junior Isabella Costa and junior Kendall Lucas (seen in photo above) set a new NA best in the 4×400 Relay with a time of 4:09.33 and a gold-medal performance. Winning also set school record in the 800m Run with a time of 2:21.81, which was good for a second-place finish. Sophomore Lindsey Breneman took first place and broke the school record in the Pole Vault with an effort of 11’6”.

Along with the record-breaking performances, a gold medal was secured for the Lady Tigers by Robin Kucler in the One-Mile Run and bronze medals were captured by Costa in the 400m Dash and senior Erin McGoey in the 3000m Run.

The NA Boys saw first-place finishes courtesy of junior Greg Abel in the 800m Run and senior James Behrend in the 3000m Run. The quartet of junior Grey Lowman, senior Michael Gauntner, junior Anant Palve and sophomore Sidath Perera placed second in the 4×400 Relay. Junior Zach Nash claimed silver in the 400m Dash and Gauntner also garnered bronze in the One-Mile Run.

North Allegheny will next take part in the TSTCA Championship at Edinboro on Saturday, Feb. 17.
