North Allegheny showcased a potent blend of veteran leadership and emerging freshman talent tonight, securing a decisive 34-7 home victory over the Rams on Friday night at NAI.
The air attack was headlined by senior Luci Zagacki, who proved to be an unstoppable force in the red zone. Zagacki hauled in seven catches, finding the endzone three times for touchdowns and adding an extra point to her stellar stat line.
The freshmen duo of quarterbacks, Macy Sundgren and Natalie Smalley, displayed poise beyond their years. The two effectively distributed the ball to a variety of receivers, orchestrating a fluid offense that consistently moved the chains. Their efforts were rewarded with scores from:
Sienna Marquis (Fr.): A “catch and carry” for a touchdown.
Giuliana Bontempo (So.): Recorded a touchdown and five defensive pulls.
Bella Devennie (Fr.): Drilled an extra point to round out the scoring.
While the offense soared, the Tigers’ defense stifled the Rams at every turn. Senior Danika Hogan led the charge with a monster performance, recording nine pulls, a sack, and her first interception of the season.
Other defensive standouts included:
Vange Balouris (Sr.): Notched four pulls and contributed a two-point conversion on offense.
Ella Brinkley (Fr.): Logged seven flag pulls and an interception.
Bella Devennie (Fr.): Added a sack to her stats.
The Tigers turn their attention to Tuesday, where they will look to finalize a victory nearly a month in the making. The team will travel to conclude their March 31st matchup against Seneca Valley, which was previously paused due to inclement weather.
Game Reset Details:
