Former North Allegheny standout golfer and current Westminster College junior Katie Rose Rankin took home her second Women’s Golf Player of the Week award this season.

This is Rankin’s eighth PAC Player of the Week award of her career.

Rankin was runner-up at The Pennsylvania Classic last weekend. The two-round event, hosted by Penn State Altoona, was played on Penn State’s White Course. Rankin finished with a two-day total of 153, carding a 77 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday. Westminster finished third at the 11-team event with a combined score of 673, following Saturday’s 342 with a 331 on Sunday.

Last Thursday, Rankin tied for third at the Grove City Spring Invitational, hosted by the Grove City Country Club, with an 82. Westminster won the 10-team event with a score of 335.

Last season, in addition to a PAC Team Championship, Rankin was the PAC Player of the Year and was a first-team All-PAC member while earning PAC Player of the Week honors four times. Two years ago, Rankin was the PAC Newcomer of the Year and a first-team All-PAC member while winning the college’s Women’s Newcomer of the Year award.
