Lady Tigers Deal Shady Side Academy First Loss
After a dropping a heartbreaker to Shady Side Academy earlier in the season, the Lady Tigers Golf Team exacted revenge by defeating the previously undefeated Panthers, 189-193.
Junior Megan Leto led all golfers with a fine score of 40. The deciding score was turned in by sophomore Kate Brickner who delivered with a career-low 49 strokes.
“I am very proud of my team today, said North Allegheny head coach Mike Hambrick. “I have been telling them all year that they can beat anyone if they play to their potential. Today that happened. What a preview to what we can accomplish next year.”
Also helping NA to victory were juniors Sophia Lee with a 49 and Jesse Pak with a 51. Shady Side was led by Casey Morrow who finished with a 43.
The victory gives North Allegheny an 11-4-1 record overall and a 4-3 mark in section play. The Lady Tigers finish up the section schedule Wednesday with road match at Pine-Richland.
