Lady Tigers Take 1st Place, NA Boys Place 2nd At TSTCA Indoor Championships

The North Allegheny girls’ indoor track and field team won a TSCTA indoor championship on Saturday and the NA Boys took second place at Edinboro University. The Lady Tigers totaled a team score of 92, outdistancing second-place Hempfield by 32 points. The NA Boys tallied 46 team points, finishing just 8.5 points behind first-place Butler.

For the Lady Tigers, junior Wren Kucler won a pair of gold medals in the 3000m Run and 1 Mile Run. Senior Eva Kynaston joined Kucler on the podium in the 1 Mile Run with a second-place finish. Sophomore Mackenzie Winning claimed gold in the 400m Dash and the 4×400 Relay team also took home gold. Sophomore Lindsey Breneman and senior Sophie Aglietti placed second and third, respectively, in the Pole Vault. Junior Isabella Costa won a pair of bronze medals, one each in the Long Jump and 400m Dash.

The NA Boys were led by senior James Behrend who won gold in the 3000m Run. Junior Nicholas Humphries garnered silver in the Long Jump and senior Michael Gauntner took home bronze in the 1 Mile Run.

The North Allegheny indoor track and field team will wrap up the 2023-2024 season on Sunday, Feb. 25, at PTFCA Championship at Penn State University.
