Under the Friday night lights, North Allegheny put on a masterclass, defeating Kiski Area 38-14 in a high-octane Varsity flag football showdown. The Tigers’ offense found the end zone early and often, while a ball-hawking defense ensured the lead was never in doubt.

The story of the night was the multi-dimensional attack led by senior Luci Zagacki. Zagacki found the end zone three times, carving up the Kiski Area secondary with precision routes and explosive speed.

Complementing the air attack was the relentless ground game of senior Mia Bosely. Handling the bulk of the workload with 11 tough carries, Bosely punched in two rushing touchdowns, consistently moving the chains and wearing down the Kiski Area defensive front.

While the offense grabbed the headlines, the North Allegheny defense provided the backbone for the victory. The Tigers’ secondary turned into a “no-fly zone,” highlighted by a spectacular performance from sophomore Lily Broms. Broms brought the crowd to its feet with a stunning one-handed pick-six, a highlight-reel play that effectively sealed the deal for NA.

The veteran leadership was on full display in the trenches and the open field:

Captain Maddie Williams: A true two-way threat, Williams tallied seven tackles and added a touchdown of her own.

Senior Vange Balouris: mirrored Williams with seven tackles and snagged an interception to thwart a Kiski Areaq comeback attempt.

Danika Hogan: Another senior standout, was a vacuum in the middle of the field, recording six tackles to keep the Kiski Area run game neutralized.

North Allegheny improves to 1-0 on the early season. The Tigers are right back in action today when they head to Deer Lakes to take on the Lancers at 2:30 p.m.
