NA Girls’ Golf Wins PIAA Silver
The North Allegheny girls’ golf team claimed state silver on Wednesday with a second place showing at PIAA girls’ golf championships at Heritage Hills Golf Resort. The Lady Tigers, the two-time WPIAL champs, were vying for a second straight state crown as well but fell just short of their goal. North Allegheny took second place with a team score of 338. Shady Side Academy, who finished in second place to the Tigers at the WPIAL championships, won the state title with a team score of 330.
North Allegheny sophomores Caroline Wrigley and Christina Lewis paced the black and gold by each shooting a 79 at the par 72 course. Freshman Esha Vaidya tallied an 85 and senior Jessica Hood carded a 95. Shady Side’s Katherine James had the best shooting day with a 4-over par.
