NA Prevails Over Oakland Catholic, 169-172
The North Allegheny girls’ golf team vanquished the Oakland Catholic Eagles on Tuesday afternoon, 169-172, in a tight section match at Diamond Run Golf Course. The win gives the Tigers sole possession of first place in the section standings.
Seniors Katie Rose Rankin and Lauren Kardos spearheaded the victory by each shooting a 40. Junior Megan Manesiotis followed closely behind with a 41 and freshman Kayli Dings capped the scoring for the Tigers with a 48. Oakland Catholic was led by Katie McGuigan with a 40.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in section play. The Tigers have a chance to lock up a section crown on Thursday with a home date against Pine-Richland on Thursday at Diamond Run at 3:30 p.m.
