NA Slays Fox Chapel In First Section Foray
The North Allegheny girls’ golf team opened the section schedule in grand fashion on Tuesday afternoon with a 142-173 win over the Fox Chapel Foxes at North Park Golf Course. The 31-point spread was significant but only part of the story. The score of 142 was seven strokes lower than any score in last year’s state championship season. Additionally, the lowest score recorded at North Park last season was 160.
North Allegheny was spurred on by sophomore Caroline Wrigley who tallied a 3-under par 33. Christina Lewis and Esha Vaidya carded a 2-under par 34, marking the first time this year three Lady Tigers shot under par rounds. Jessica Hood totaled a 41 to finish the scoring.
The Lady Tigers jump to 8-0 overall and 1-0 in section action. North Allegheny visits Kiski Area on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
