The MaxPreps Cup recognizes the best high school sports programs in the country. The competition uses an algorithm that awards points for state championships, runner-up finishes and national rankings based on the size of the state, popularity of the sport, size of school and number of teams in each playoff division. For 14 years, MaxPreps has identified the No. 1 overall high school athletic program in every state. During that time, just four schools have finished in first place in their respective states every season.
