Three Tigers Punch Ticket To WPIAL Individual Championship

All three Tigers who competed at the WPIAL individual first round made the cut on Monday at Youghiogheny Country Club. Seniors Katie Rose Rankin and Lauren Kardos, and junior Megan Manesiotis all advanced to the WPIAL Class AAA individual championship next week.

Rankin finished in third place and shot a 78 at the par 72 course and finished just three strokes behind the leader, Marissa Malosh of South Fayette. Kardos carded an 85, good for seventh place. Manesiotis shot a 92, ensuring that all three North Allegheny representatives will compete at the WPIAL Class AAA individual championship on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

The WPIAL girls’ golf individual championship are now played in a two-round format. The scores accumulated from the first round will carry over to their respective championships. Tee times and pairings for the final round of the WPIAL Girls’ Golf Individual Championships at Valley Brook Country Club will be released on Friday.

The entire North Allegheny girls’ golf team will return to action on Thursday at home against Peters Township in a home non-section contest.
