On a rain-soaked evening, the Lady Tigers battled the Lady Trojans of North Catholic and came away with a 35–7 victory. Despite the slick conditions, both teams came out firing, with North Catholic striking first after capitalizing on a few missed tackles to take an early lead.
The Lady Tigers responded immediately with a touchdown drive of their own and quickly took control of the game, never looking back.
Senior standout Luci Zagacki delivered another spectacular performance, accounting for two touchdowns and two extra point conversions on offense. She also anchored the defense with nine pulls and an interception, showcasing her all-around impact. Freshman Bella Devennie matched Zagacki’s offensive output, adding two touchdowns and two extra point conversions while consistently finding openings in the Trojans’ secondary. Sophomore Giuliana Bontempo hauled in a touchdown pass from quarterback Macy Sundgren in the second half to keep the Tigers offense rolling.
Additional contributions came from senior Mia Bosley, junior Sloane Baker, and Sundgren, each recording an extra point conversion. Defensively, Bosley added an interception, while senior Danika Hogan made her presence felt with seven pulls, using her quickness to disrupt North Catholic’s offensive rhythm and prevent sustained drives. Freshman Ella Brinkely capped off the night with a late-game interception to seal the victory.
With the win, the Lady Tigers improved to an impressive 12–1 record and currently sit in second place in Section 1. They return to action tomorrow at 5:30 PM at Newman Stadium to take on New Castle in their regular-season finale. The WPIAL playoffs are set to begin Tuesday at Newman Stadium, where the Tigers will look to carry their momentum into postseason play.
