Tigers Overpower Raiders, 42-36

The Lady Tigers were once again on the road as they traveled to take on WPIAL #4 ranked Seneca Valley Wednesday evening. North Allegheny prevailed 42-36.

The dual meet started at 106, where Seneca Valley picked up a fall. North Allegheny responded with junior Isabella Cuomo winning by injury default to tie the score 6-6. Seneca again took the lead with a fall at 118. Senior Hannah Williams tied the match 12-12 with fall over Rowan Myers with three seconds left in the second period.

Seneca Valley then took the lead 24-12 via a forfeit at 130 and a fall a 136. The Lady Tigers quickly changed the momentum with four straight falls. Junior Maya Scott pinned Carriss Avondo in 3:19 at 142, followed by senior Audrey Morrison’s fall over WPIAL No. 5-ranked Hannah Hornick in 3:44 at 148. At 155, sophomore Ava Frailey secured a late third period fall, and senior Leyna Rumpler pinned WPIAL No. 4-ranked Kenley Alexander in 58 seconds at 170.

Kaylee Dean then received a forfeit at 190 to extend the Lady Tigers lead to 42-24. Seneca Valley picked up a fall at 235 and a forfeit at 100 to close out the dual, bringing the score to 42-36 in favor of North Allegheny.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improve to 7-0 overall. They return to action on Tuesday January 23 at 5:30 pm when they travel to face #1 state ranked Canon Mac at Canon Mac High School.
