Tigers Take 6th At Lady Raiders Invitational, Rumpler Crowned Champion

The Lady Tigers traveled to Columbia Station in Ohio on Saturday to compete in the Lady Raiders Invitational, hosted by Columbia High School. North Allegheny finished in sixth place out of 36 teams. Five Lady Tigers placed in the top six, led by senior Leyna Rumpler who captured the 155 pound title.Rumpler finished first in her pool after starting the day 3-0 with three falls, all within the first minute of action. In the Championship round, she faced off against No. 19-Ohio state ranked Brooklyn Baskin of Brush. Rumpler secured the fall in 1:09 to advance to the Championship bout. Her opponent was No. 6-Ohio state ranked and 2023 Ohio Girls State seventh-place finisher, Cailyn Demagall of Columbia. Rumpler used a combination of takedowns and turns to defeat Demagall 13-1 to claim the title.Senior Audrey Morrison went 3-2, finishing in 3rd place at 145. She went 3-0 in pool play with two falls, including a thrilling 7-5 victory over No. 16-Ohio state ranked Sarah Forster of Madison. Morrison finishing first in her pool. In the Championship round she lost to No. 5-Ohio state Ranked Hattie Rose Hobar of Avon Lake and No.6-Ohio state ranked Youstina Hanna of Columbia. Junior Brenna Collery went 4-2 and finished in fourth place at 135. She went 4-0 in pool play with three falls, finishing first in her pool. She lost in both her championship rounds to finish in fourth.

Senior Hannah Williams went 3-2, finishing 6th at 115. She was 2-1 in pool play with two falls. She pinned Reaghan Moore of Cuyahoga Falls in the placement round before losing by fall to Emma Abrams of Gahanna Lincoln in the fifth place match. Freshman Lorelei Bungard finished 3-2 and placed sixth at 130. She went 2-1 in play with two falls. In the placement rounds she went 1-1 with a fall over Alysa McClain of Wellington to finish in sixth place.Sophomore Anna Kovacic (120) and junior Maya Scott (140) both finished tied for seventh. Kovacic went 2-1 in pool play with two falls. She lost by fall to No. 13-Ohio state ranked Claire Ondrejko of Columbia in the first placement round. Scott went 2-1 in pool play with two falls as well.
