Girls Wrestling opens season with 47-29 win over Fox Chapel
The North Allegheny girls wrestling team traveled to Fox Chapel High School to open the 2025-2026 season taking on the Foxes on Wednesday afternoon. It was a competitive match with the Tigers trailing 29-23 but the NA were able to pull away winning the final four matches to claim a 47-29 victory.
Fox Chapel got the opening victory at 100 pounds to take a 6-0 lead before Kaelyn Fraley won by pin and Tapanga Bornt got a victory via tech fall to give NA an 11-6 lead. The Foxes would pick up a pin to take a 12-11 lead but North Allegheny took the lead right back getting a pin from Aleigha Revelent to give the Tigers a 17-12 lead. The back-and-forth nature of the match continued as Fox Chapel took the lead back getting a pin at 130 pounds to take an 18-17 lead. Lorelei Bungard won by pin for the Tigers but the Foxes responded with another pin to keep a 24-23 lead. Fox Chapel’s Lauren Bachman won by tech fall to give the Foxes a 29-23 lead. From there, NA would take over as Alexis Hatshorn won by forfeit, Addison Urschler and Heidi Radford each won by pin and Alex Gosnell took her match by forfeit to give North Allegheny the 47-29 win.
North Allegheny improves to 1-0 overall. Fox Chapel falls to 1-1. The Tigers return to action on Saturday when they head east to participate in the Gettysburg Invitational, starting at 10 a.m.
