Former North Allegheny Football standout Peter Notaro is on the move this offseason, and he’s coming a little bit closer to home.

After one season with Alabama Football, Notaro entered the transfer portal at the beginning of the year and landed with West Virginia.

Notaro served as the backup placekicker and played in two games last season. He made five PATs in as many tries while kicking off five times for a combined 317 yards with two touchbacks.

Coming out of North Allegheny in 2025, Notaro was a five-star recruit by Kohl’s Kicking and rated as the No. 4 kicking prospect in his class by the organization. He also ranked as a three-star recruit and the No. 8 kicker by ESPN.com. Notaro was a two-time WPIAL champion and Big 56 first-team all-conference player. He connected on 17 field goals across his final two seasons at NA, including a school-record 53-yarder as a senior. He also played soccer for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Academy, competing in the Elite Clubs National League.

Notaro originally chose Alabama over West Virginia, Ohio State and Pitt. WVU is coming off a 4-8 season under Rich Rodriguez, who is heading into the second season of his second stint as the Mountaineers’ head coach in 2026.
