After another successful year, three North Allegheny football seniors confirmed their college selections as the season ended. Nicholas Humphries, Peter Notaro and Jack Yatchenko officially signed with Drake University, the University of Alabama and Princeton University respectively. This group of seniors was a major contributor in back-to-back WPIAL titles in 2022 and 2023, a PIAA Championship appearance in 2023 and another WPIAL title appearance in 2024.

Humphries first committed to Drake back in October. The defensive back had an impressive campaign last season, earning Big 56 All-Conference Second Team laurels at defensive back and leading the Tigers in pass breakups. This year, he earned Big 56 All-Conference First Team accolades on defense. Humphries finished the season with 31 total tackles, three interceptions, and 12 pass breakups. He additionally spent time as a wide receiver and return specialist averaging 21.4 yards on kick return and 25 yards per punt return with two touchdowns. Nick is also a successful North Allegheny Track and Field team member.

Notaro first committed to Alabama back in July. He is a 5-star recruit and ranked the No. 4 kicker in the country by Kohl’s Kicking. Notaro earned back-to-back Big 56 first-team all-conference selections at kicker over the last two seasons. He nailed a career-long 53-yard field goal this past fall while also serving as the team’s punter.

Yatchenko gave his verbal commitment to Princeton back in June of this year. He was a cornerstone on the offensive and defensive lines during his time at NA. As a junior, he was named to the prestigious Fabulous 22 Team by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and was tabbed an All-Star by the Pittsburgh Union Progress, among other postseason accolades. This season, Yatchenko was a Big 56 All-Conference First Team selection along the offensive line. He was also nominated for the prestigious Bill Fralic Memorial Award last month. Defensively, the senior added 22 total tackles along the defensive line.  A multi-sport standout, Yatchenko is also a member of the North Allegheny track and field team and won WPIAL gold in the Shot Put at the WPIAL Class AAA team championship this past spring.
