Tigers swept in doubleheader against Seneca Valley

The NA Inline Tigers fell to the Seneca Valley Raiders in a frigid double header on Saturday at the RMU Island Sports Center, as Sunday’s game was rescheduled to Saturday due to the inclement weather. 

The Tigers played with a skeleton crew that battled in the unusually cold temperatures but ultimately dropped the first game by a score of 6-3 to the Raiders.

In the first game, the Tigers opened the scoring with a goal by sophomore Adam Cameron but the Raiders followed up with two goals to take a brief lead.  Junior Marcus Garcia, scored on an assist by Cameron tied the game at 2-2, but once again the Raiders responded with two additional goals to close out the first period with the Tigers trailing 4-2.

Both teams were held scoreless in the second period and it was the Raiders notching two goals in the third to defeat the Tigers by a score of 6-3.

Sophomore goalie Travis Herm suffers the loss.

After a short break, the Tigers played their second game of the wintery day. Game two saw multiple penalties by both teams.  The Tigers opened the scoring with a power play goal by Garcia, assisted by sophomore Nathan Johnson as the Raiders kept pace and tied the score at 1-1, closing out the first period.

In the second period it was Cameron with two additional power play goals both assisted by Garcia to give the Tigers a 3-1 advantage.  The Raiders battled back scoring two goals as well to end the frame at 3-3.

In the third period, it was the Raiders holding the Tigers at bay while scoring one lone goal and claiming the win at 4-3.  

Junior goalie Conner Greenberg suffers the loss as the Tigers record falls to 6-9-1.  Senior Recognition Day is postponed until next Sunday when the Tigers resume play against the Penn-Trafford Warriors at 10:00 AM at the RMU Island Sports Center.
