After starting the season with four straight road games due to weather and postponements, North Allegheny was finally able to open its home slate on Monday night when they hosted the Moon Tigers in a Section 3A-2 match up at Newman Stadium.

Moon used a big third quarter to break open a tight contest and post a 15-9 road victory at North Allegheny.

Moon opened up a 3-0 lead to start the game. Kamryn White scored 30 seconds into the game. Scarlet Eubanks and Gianna Deluca added tallies before Reagan Riordan converted a Sarah Harlan pass to make it a 3-1 game.

Marleigh Therrien scored to give Moon a 4-1 lead after the first quarter.

Dani Crawford started the second quarter with a free position tally to bring North Allegheny within two, before Reese Keslar netted a free position goal to make it 5-2.

Harlan took a feed from Riordan and scored a beautiful, backhanded goal on an underhand shovel shot with her back to the net to make it 5-3. But Eubanks added her second goal of the game and Vita Hazen scored to put Moon in front 7-3.

North Allegheny then went on a four-goal run to tie the game.

Riordan on a free position, Riordan from Harlan for the hat trick, Sara Donaldson converting off a turnover and when Riordan scored her fourth goal of the game on a nice run to the net, the game was tied at 7-7.

But Deluca might have scored the biggest goal of the night for Moon, with her second marker coming with nine seconds left before halftime for an 8-7 lead. That was part of a run of eight straight goals for Moon.

Eubanks scored for the hat trick, White got her second, Keslar added her second on a free position, Hazen added her second, and when Deluca completed her hat trick from White, Moon had a 13-7 lead after outscoring North Allegheny 5-0 in the third quarter.

Therrien added her second and Deluca her fourth as the Moon lead grew to 15-7.

North Allegheny scored the final two goals of the game, on a pair of beauties from Harlan.

The junior scored on another backhander, before netting the hat trick on a crease roll at the near post to make the final score 15-9.

With three goals and two assists, Sarah Harlan was awarded the Wright Automotive Player of the Game Honors. Harlan now has eleven goals on the season for North Allegheny, and she leads the team in points. Riordan’s four-goal effort pushed her team lead to 13, and her career total now sits at 109 goals.

North Allegheny (1-4, 0-2), stays at home for a Wednesday night section game against Butler, and a Thursday evening non-section tilt vs. Sewickley Academy. Both of those contests will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
