Inline Hockey opens the season with 6-2 win over Pine-Richland
The North Allegheny Inline Tigers opened the season with a 6-2 win over the Pine-Richland Rams on Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by senior Christian Mark assisted by senior Marcus Garcia. While holding the Rams at bay, junior Nathan Johnson notched the second goal for the Tigers assisted again by Garcia closing out the frame with a 2-0 NA lead.
In the second period, the Rams posted two goals to tie the game at 2-2, but the Tigers responded with a go-ahead goal from junior Travis Herm assisted by junior Ronan Karavlan, thus securing a 3-2 lead.
The third period was all Tigers starting with a power play goal by Garcia assisted by Mark. Senior Liam Huey added to the scoring as well, assisted by Karavlan. Finishing the period was an impressive unassisted snipe shot by sophomore Nicholas Cook giving the Tigers the 6-2 victory.
Senior goalie Connor Greenberg earns the win as the Tigers start the season at 1-0. The Tigers will resume play next Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center at 10:00 AM against the Butler Tornado.
