Girls' Tennis Game Summaries

North Allegheny traveled to the Summit Tennis and Athletic Club in Altoona, PA to take on Hollidaysburg in the PIAA First Round. The teams battled and it came down to the final match of the day but the Tigers fell by a score of 3-2.

The doubles teams continued their dominant play as they did all season as Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai were tested in the first set before rolling in the second set winning 7-5, 6-0 against Hollidaysburg’s #1 doubles team. At #2 doubles, Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward defeated their opponents, 6-3, 6-4.

North Allegheny finishes the season with a 17-4 record. The Tigers won their fifth consecutive section title this season and have run their section winning streak up to 38 matches. NA got back to the PIAA tournament for the first time since 2023. Congrats to Head Coach Michelle Weniger and all staff and players for another great season!

North Allegheny traveled to Shady Side Academy High School to take on the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils in the WPIAL Third-Place Consolation Match. The winner of this match qualified for the state tournament while the loser’s season ended. After defeating the Blue Devils 3-2 in the regular season, NA repeated that performance for another 3-2 win. It is the Tigers’ first time in the PIAA Team Tournament since 2023.

Mia Kaufman won her #1 singles match by default.

Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai defeated Mt. Lebanon’s #1 doubles after being tested in the first set by scores of 7-5, 6-3. Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward battled in the second set and came away with a 6-3, 7-5 victory.

North Allegheny advances to the PIAA First Round where they will take on the District 4/6 Sub-Regional Champion on Tuesday, October 21 at a site and time to be determined.

North Allegheny traveled to Chartiers Valley High School to take on the Bethel Park Blackhawks in the WPIAL Semifinals on Monday afternoon. The Tigers battled Bethel Park tough but ultimately fell by a score of 3-2.

Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai were tested in both sets but ultimately took down Bethel Park’s #1 doubles team by set scores of 7-6(4), 7-5. Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward also needed a tiebreak to win one of their sets but won 6-2, 7-6(4).

Although the Tigers fell, their season is not over. Since three teams from the WPIAL qualify for the PIAA Girls Tennis tournament, North Allegheny will now play in a third-place consolation match against the loser of Shady Side Academy and Mt. Lebanon on Monday at 3 p.m. at a site to be determined.

North Allegheny hosted the Fox Chapel Foxes on Wednesday afternoon at the North Allegheny High School courts in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. It was a tight matchup between these two teams in the regular season with the Tigers coming away with the 3-2 victory. NA gave themselves a little more cushion this time winning 4-1 to get to the WPIAL Semifinals.

Mia Kaufman was tested in the second set but ultimately won 6-3, 7-5 against Zoey Liu at #1 singles. Samantha Leeman won in straight sets against Clara Drahnak in #2 singles, 6-1, 6-4.

Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai got the job done at #1 doubles winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward needed a tiebreak in the second set but came away with the 6-0, 7-6(4) victory.

North Allegheny advances to the WPIAL Semifinals where they will take on the winner of Bethel Park and Latrobe on Monday at 3 p.m. at a site to be determined.

North Allegheny hosted the Peters Township Indians at the North Allegheny High School courts in the WPIAL First Round. The Tigers swept Peters Township 5-0 in the regular season. This one was a little closer but still ended with an NA victory as North Allegheny defeated the Indians 3-2.

Samantha Leeman won her match in #2 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai won at #1 doubles by set scores of 6-3, 6-2 while Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward took down the #2 Indians doubles team 6-1, 6-2.

North Allegheny advances to the WPIAL Quarterfinals where they will take on the winner of Fox Chapel and Mars on Wednesday, at a site and time to be determined.
