Tigers place second at WPIAL Championships; Sarah Patterson wins floor routine

North Allegheny traveled to Moon High School to take on the WPIAL Gymnastics Championships on Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, the Tigers came up just short of WPIAL gold falling to Thomas Jefferson (141.975) by half a point as NA finished with a team score of 141.425, good enough for WPIAL runner-up. On Saturday, Sarah Patterson took home WPIAL gold in the floor routine.
There were plenty of Tigers throughout the leaderboard in all events as Hannah Seidl was the third-place finisher on the vault with a score of 9.725. Patterson finished sixth with a 9.600. Caroline DiRenzo was North Allegheny’s top performer on the bars posting a 9.000, good enough for sixth place while Seidl finished in ninth.
Three Tigers posted top 10 finishes on the beam as Seidl and DiRenzo both posted a score of 8.750 to tie for sixth place while Patterson came in ninth place scoring an 8.700. Patterson won the floor routine with a score of 9.700 beating runner-up Eliana Knause of Montour by two-tenths of a point. Seidl finished in ninth posting a 9.200.
Patterson, Seidl and DiRenzo all had top-10 finishes in the all-around performance coming in fifth, sixth and 10th respectively.

That concludes the season for North Allegheny. They finished the year with a 7-1 overall record, 6-1 in section, with their only regular season loss coming to Thomas Jefferson. Congrats to head coach Nicole Bova, her staff and all athletes on a great season!
NA Gymnastics defeats North Hills on Senior Day

North Allegheny hosted the North Hills Indians on Saturday afternoon at Jewarts Gymnastics to finish up the regular season. It was a great showing by the Tigers on senior day to end the regular season with a 141.25-125.525 victory over the Indians.
Hannah Seidl led the way on the vault and bars scoring a 9.325 and a 9.1 respectively. Sarah Patterson had an 8.675 to lead the way on the beam and a 9.5 in her floor routine. Patterson also scored well on the vault with a 9.2. Senior Sierra Dickert and Julia Fortunato also had good vault performances with a 9.175 and 9 respectively. Seidl added a 9.15 in her floor routine.

After the meet, North Allegheny honored their seniors, Dickert, Diya Sonth and Karen Zeisler.
North Allegheny will be back in action on Friday, February 7, when they travel to Moon High School to take part in the WPIAL Team Championships.
Tigers win tri-meet with Pine-Richland, Fox Chapel

The North Allegheny gymnastics team hosted Pine-Richland and Fox Chapel at Jewarts Gymnastics on Thursday night in a section tri-meet. The Tigers came out on top scoring 138.15 points as a team. Fox Chapel came in second with 125.25 points while Pine-Richland had 122.4 points.
Hannah Seidl led the way on the vault scoring 9.45 and the beam with an 8.7. Sarah Patterson led all scorers on the bars with an 8.55. Patterson held it down on the floor routine scoring a 9.45. Patterson and Sierra Dickert performed well on the vault scoring 9.25 and 9 respectively. Seidl added a 9.1 on the floor.

North Allegheny returns to action tomorrow when they host North Hills at Jewarts Gymnastics at 3:00 p.m. This will be senior day for the Tigers.
NA places second in competitive tri-meet

North Allegheny traveled to Premier Gym and Cheer to take on Baldwin and Thomas Jefferson on Friday night. It was a very competitive meet with all three teams only being separated by two points. Thomas Jefferson came out victorious with a score of 138.35. A point behind them were the Tigers at 137.3 and Baldwin finished a point behind NA with a score of 136.5
Hannah Seidl led the way on both the vault (9.4) and bars (8.6). Sarah Patterson was the top performer on the beam (8.5) and floor (9) events. Patterson and Sierra Dickert also performed well on the vault each posting 9.2’s.

Gymnastics opens season with quad meet win

The North Allegheny gymnastics team opened the 2024-2025 season at Hempfield on Thursday night taking on the Spartans along with Burrell and North Hills. The Tigers put on a great showing posting a team score of 137.95, the top score on the night. Eight points ahead of second place Hempfield.
Sarah Patterson was the top scorer on the vault (9.4), beam (8.85) and in the floor (9.3) events. Hannah Seidl posted a 9.4 on the bars to lead the way in that category. The Tigers dominated on the vault getting four of the top five scores. Along with Patterson, Seidl (9.1), Sierra Dickert (9) and Julia Fortunato (9) all had great showings.

North Allegheny returns to action tomorrow when they travel to Baldwin to take on the Fighting Highlanders along with Thomas Jefferson starting at 7:00 p.m. at Premier Gym and Cheer.
Tigers Take 4th Place At WPIAL Championships

The North Allegheny gymnastics team took part in the WPIAL Team Championships on Friday night at Moon High School and came away with a fourth-place finish. The Tigers totaled a team score of 143.051. Pine-Richland earned the WPIAL crown with a team score of 148.608.
Freshman Adriana Seese gave an inspiring performance and led the team on the vault (9.575) and bars (9.1). Senior Gabi Stegeman tallied a team-best score of 8.675 on the beam, whole sophomore Sarah Patterson delivered a team-high 9.367 in the floor event. The WPIAL individual championships were held on Saturday and NA’s top performer in the Advanced Division was Seese with an All-Around score of 36.675 to finish in sixth place. Seese placed fourth in vault (9.450), eighth on the bars (9.075), sixth on the beam (9.075) and ninth in the floor (9.075) event.
Freshman Hannah Seidl placed 10th with an All-Around score of 35.900 and won WPIAL bronze with a dazzling 9.525 in the vault event. Freshman Caroline DeRenzo took 11th place with an All-Around of 35.700 in the Advanced Division.
In the Intermediate II Division, junior Sierra Dickert took home WPIAL gold in the vault event with a score of 9.050. For a look at all of the scoring from the WPIAL individual championships, click here.

NA Gymnasts Sweep Tri-Meet With Hopewell, Burrell

The North Allegheny gymnastics team visited Hopewell for a tri-meet with the Vikings and Burell Bucs and took first place with a team score of 136.8. The victory in the regular season finale gives the Tigers some momentum heading into the WPIAL championships on Friday, Feb. 9.
Helping lead NA to the win over the Vikings and Bucs was junior Sierra Dickert, who posted a team-best score of 9.1 in the vault event. Freshman Hannah Seidl paced the team on the bars with a score of 8.85. On the beam, senior Gabi Stegeman talled a team-high 8.8, while sophomore Sarah Patterson totaled a team-best 9.35 in the floor event. For a look at all scoring, click here.
Following Thursday night’s sweep, North Allegheny will vie for a WPIAL championship on Feb. 9 at Moon High School. The WPIAL individual championships will be held the next day at Moon.
Big Weekend For NA Gymnasts

The North Allegheny gymnastics team had a successful weekend on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Tigers took second-place in a tri-meet with Baldwin and Thomas Jefferson. The Tigers posted a team score of 135.65. The Fighting Highanders grabbed first place with a score of 135.65 and Thomas Jefferson finished in third with a score of 122.25.
On Saturday, the Tigers cruised to victory against North Hills. NA totaled a score of 141, while the Indians received a score of 119.15.
Leading the way in the tri-meet for NA was freshman Adriana Seese, who posted team highs in the vault (9.39), bars (9.0), beam (8.7) and floor (9.0) events. Junior Sierra Dickert was also impressive, tallying a 9.2 in the vault and an 8.2 on the beam. For a look at all scores from the tri-meet, click here. The NA2 team also competed and finished with a score of 115.15.
Against the Indians on Saturday, freshman Hannah Seidl paced the team in vault (9.4) and floor (9.2) events. Seese was the team leader on the bars with a 9.0, while Seese and freshman Caroline DeRenzo tied for the top score on the beam by each scoring an 8.6. For a look at all scores, click here. The NA2 team posted a collective score of 109.6.
The meet against North Hills also marked Senior Day at Jewarts Gymnastics as seniors Masha Dudina, Emma Flanders, Kendall Hanes, Devyn Horner, Rylee Johnson, Jena Karlovits, Sarah Killen, Elizabeth Regan, Gabrielle Stegeman and Victoria Williams were all recognized.
North Allegheny will round out the regular season schedule on Thursday night at Hopewell.
NA Takes 2nd Place At Tri-Meet With Pine-Richland, Fox Chapel

The North Allegheny gymnastics team took part in a tri-meet on Friday night with Fox Chapel and Pine-Richland at Roots gym. The Tigers came in a second place with a team score of 137.6, narrowly shy of first-place Pine-Richland’s score of 143.5. Fox Chapel came in third place with a team score of 99.2. The Tigers also split off into a second competitive team that tallied a score of 98.11.
Freshman Hannah Seidl delivered a strong performance of North Allegheny, leading the team in the Bars (8.65) and Floor (8.95) floor events. Senior Gabi Stegeman tallied a team-high score of 8.75 on the beam. Freshman Adriana Seese totaled a team-best 9.35 in the vault event. For a look at all scoring, click here.
