NA Cheer Takes 5th Place At PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships

The North Allegheny competitive cheer squad took fifth place on Saturday at the PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships.
The Tigers advanced directly to the finals after hitting a zero-deduction routine on day one. With a final team score of 83.85, the Tigers garnered fifth place in the Large Class 3A Division. For a look at the final scores from the PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships, click here.
Next stop for North Allegheny is Orlando, Florida on Feb. 8 for the National High School Cheerleading Championship to finish off the competition season.
Tigers Place 4th At WPIAL Competitive Cheer Championships

The North Allegheny competitive cheer team competed at the WPIAL championships on Saturday at Hempfield High School.
The Tigers competed in the Large 3A division and hit a zero-deduction routine. As a result, North Allegheny placed fourth in the Large 3A division and fifth overall, earning a bid to the PIAA championships at the end of January in Hershey, PA. The state finals will be held on Jan. 27-28.
North Allegheny will compete against the Large 3A teams across Pennsylvania on Jan. 27 with hopes of reaching the finals the next day.
Following states, North Allegheny will travel to Orlando, Florida for the National High School Cheerleading Championship in February to finish the competitive cheer season.
NA Cheer Earns Two Bids To Nationals

The North Allegheny varsity cheerleading squad earned two bids to nationals last weekend at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.
The Tigers competed at Olentangy Orange High School and received national bids in the Game Day and Traditional Competitive routines.
The next competition for North Allegheny is Nov, 19 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
NA Cheer Starts Season Strong At North Hills Knock Out Event

The North Allegheny cheer squad kicked off their competition schedule last weekend with a strong showing at the North Hills Knock Out event.
The North Allegheny varsity competition and varsity gameday took part in the event, with varsity gameday taking home first place in Large Varsity. The Tigers’ varsity competition unit scored the highest out of all teams competing on the day, including small, medium and large varsity competition teams. NA’s varsity gameday squad finished in second place.
Individually, freshman Giana Fuerst won the tumble off with a beautifully executed whip through to full pass. Junior Emma Flanders took first place in the jump off. (Photos of Fuerst and Flanders are below. Click on photo to make larger).
North Allegheny looks to build on its great season debut this weekend as the Tigers go for a National Bid at the UCA Regionals in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday.
