Tigers place third at WPIAL Team Championships

North Allegheny traveled to Moon High School to take part in the WPIAL Team Championships. The Tigers posted a team score of 140.525, good enough for third place. Thomas Jefferson claimed the team title with 142.209 points.

Hannah Seidl led NA on the vault with a score of 9.500. Maeve Coltz Robinson posted a 9.250 on the vault while Caroline DiRenzo had a 9.067. Seidl also led North Allegheny on the bars with a 8.625. She was also the top scorer on the beam with a 9.325. DiRenzo added a 9.000. Three Tigers performed well in the floor routine as Sarah Patterson (9.425), Seidl (9.050) and DiRenzo (9.000) all posted 9 or above.

Individually, Patterson placed third in the floor routine while Seidl was third on the beam in the advanced division. Coltz Robinson was the top finisher on the vault in the Int I division.

Gymnastics wraps up regular season

North Allegheny hosted Pine-Richland and Fox Chapel to wrap up the regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers put up a team total of 143.2 points, their highest total of the season.

Four Tigers posted a 9 or above on the vault with Hannah Seidl getting a 9.6, Julia Fortunato having a 9.25, Caroline DiRenzo had a 9.15 and Maeve Coltz Robinson posted a 9. Seidl had a 9.1 on the bars to lead the way for NA. Seidl was also the leading scorer on the beam with a 9.05 while DiRenzo added a 9. Sarah Patterson was the top scorer on the floor routine with a 9.5. Seidl posted a 9.4 while DiRenzo added a 9.2.

The Tigers will have a little break before returning to action on February 7 when they compete at the WPIAL Championships at Moon High School.

NA takes down North Hills on Senior Day

For the second straight day, the North Allegheny Tigers and North Hills Indians competed against each other in gymnastics, this time on Senior Day for the Tigers. The result was very similar to the night before as the Tigers once again vanquished the Indians, this time by a score of 141.05-113.65.

Hannah Seidl (9.5) and Julia Fortunato (9.15) placed first and second respectively in the vault. Caroline DiRenzo was the top Tiger on the bars with a score of 8.8. Sarah Patterson posted an 8.85 on the beam to lead NA while also being the top scorer in the floor routine with a 9.45. Seidl finished second on the floor with a 9.3.

North Allegheny improves to 6-1 overall. The Tigers wrap up the regular season on Saturday, January 10, when they host Pine-Richland and Fox Chapel at Jewarts Gymnastics. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Tigers open the New Year with sweep of Montour & North Hills

North Allegheny gymnastics hosted the North Hills Indians and the Montour Spartans at Jewarts Gymnastics on Friday, January 2. The Tigers finished with a team total score of 139.95, good enough to beat both the Indians (113.95) and Spartans (63.45).

Hannah Seidl (9.5), Caroline DiRenzo (9.2) and Julia Fortunato (9.05) finished top three in the vault. On the bars, Seidl finished with the top score of the night with an 8.55. Seidl also led the way for the Tigers on the beam posting a 9.4. In the floor routine, Sarah Patterson put up a 9.2, the best score of the night.

North Allegheny improves to 5-1 on the season. The Tigers will be right back in action tomorrow when they host North Hills once again, this time at 3 p.m. This will be the Tigers’ senior night.

NA sweep tri-meet with Thomas Jefferson and Baldwin

North Allegheny gymnastics hosted Baldwin and defending WPIAL champion Thomas Jefferson at Jewarts Gymnastics on Thursday night. The Tigers put together a great performance posting 141.5 points as a team, good enough to defeat both Thomas Jefferson (136.7) and Baldwin (135.875).

Hannah Seidl was the top performer of the meet in the vault with a score of 9.4. Caroline DiRenzo had the third highest score at 9.2. On the bars, DiRenzo claimed top score of the meet with a 9.3. Seidl posted a 9, good enough for third. Sarah Patterson scored a 8.7 on the beam, tied for the top score on the night. Seidl had a 9.15 in the floor routine for the top score. DiRenzo was right behind her in second with a 9.05.
