NA Tennis Picks Off Peters Township, 5-0
The North Allegheny girls’ tennis team punished the Peters Township Indians on Friday afternoon, 5-0, in a non-section contest. The Lady Tigers received wins in singles action from senior Anna Li, sophomore Ashley Huang and senior Vivian Shao. Li defeated Alex Garcia 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Huang posted a 6-1, 6-2, victory over Mia Hofbauer. Shao’s 6-1, 6-0, win over Paige Mattes finished off the Indians at No. 3 singles.
Doubles play saw Rebekah Rest and Jenna Kolano take down Allie D’Orazio and Carla Goldsmith, 6-3, 6-0. Rounding out the afternoon, the duo of Riya Yadav and Katherine Ambrose toppled Julia Derienzo and Nina Derienzo, 6-1, 6-5.
The Tigers sit at 14-0 overall following the non-section win. North Allegheny visits Shaler on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
