Girls Wrestling dominant in win against Seneca Valley
North Allegheny traveled to Seneca Valley High School to battle the Raiders on Wednesday night. The Tigers jumped out to a 36-12 lead en route to a 51-24 victory.
Reagan Root won by forfeit at 100 pounds to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Seneca Valley won the next two bouts by fall to take a 12-6 lead. The Tigers would claim the next five as Carly O’Donnell (pin), Anna Kovacic (pin), Sally Horton (pin), Kait Roy (forfeit) and Lorelei Bungard (pin) helped give NA the lead and expand it to 36-12. The Raiders picked up a pin at 148 pounds to make the score 36-18 but Addison Urschler won by pin and Ava Frailey claimed a 4-2 decision to keep the momentum with North Allegheny and the score at 45-18. Seneca Valley won one more bout at 190 pounds before Alex Gosnell finished the night winning by fall and the Tigers won 51-24.
North Allegheny improves to 7-6 on the season. Seneca Valley falls to 1-2. The Tigers return to action on Saturday when they compete in the Sharpsville Invitational. Wrestling will begin at 9 a.m.
