Inline Hockey advances to PIRHL Class B Finals

The NA Inline Tigers advanced to the PIRHL Class B final after defeating the West Allegheny Indians by a score of 7-6 on Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.

The first period saw the Tigers open the scoring with a goal from sophomore Christian Mark assisted by senior Ethan Zadnik, followed by a goal from senior Steven Cameron assisted by senior Kip Seymour.  The Indians got on the board with a goal, but the Tigers responded with two additional goals for senior Dan O’Malley assisted by Mark and sophomore Liam Huey ending the period with the Tigers leading 4-1.

The second period saw the Tigers continue the scoring with an unassisted goal from Cameron but the Indians answered with a power play goal of their own.  It was Mark closing out the period with an additional marker assisted by O’Malley ending the period with a 6-2 Tiger lead.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the final period with a power play goal from Cameron assisted by Zadnik, but it was the Indians who staged an aggressive comeback notching four goals of their own and it was the Tigers who held on for a 7-6 win.

Junior goalie Claudia Kushon earned the win as the Tigers move on to game one of a 3-game playoff championship starting next Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center at 12:00 pm against the Shaler Titans.
