Inline Hockey battles West Allegheny to a 7-7 draw

The NA Inline Tigers and the West Allegheny Indians ended in a 7-7 tie on Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the first period compliments of the Indians as the puck deflected off of the skate and caromed into the net, Senior Matthew Noffsinger was credited with the goal. The Tigers continued the scoring with two additional goals from junior Christian Mark, one unassisted and the other assisted by Noffsinger. The Indians responded with two goals of their own, closing out the period with a Tiger 3-2 lead.
The second period opened with a goal from junior Marcus Garcia, assisted by sophomore Travis Herm. The Indians once again responded with two goals as the second frame ended at 4-4.
In the third period, it was the Indians who initiated the scoring with two goals giving West Allegheny a 6-4 advantage. The Tigers battled back with a goal from Herm assisted by Noffsinger and a goal from Noffsinger assisted by Mark. The Tigers notched one final power play goal from senior Stefan Craig again assisted by Mark giving the Tigers the 7-6 lead. The lead was short lived as the Indians claimed the final marker to tie the game at 7-7.
Both teams were held scoreless in the 3-on-3 overtime and the game ended in a 7-7 tie.
Senior goalie Claudia Kushon earns a no decision as the Tigers record now stands at 6-7-1. The Tigers resume play next Saturday at 3:00 PM and Sunday at 10:00 AM for Senior Recognition Day, both games are against the Seneca Valley Raiders at the RMU Island Sports Center.
