Inline Hockey wins PIRHL Class B title

The NA Inline Tigers captured the PIRHL Class B championship on Saturday by defeating the Shaler Titans taking game two and sweeping the three-game series by a score of 4-2 at the RMU Island Sports Center.

In an evenly matched contest, the Tigers opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by junior Matthew Noffsinger assisted by senior Steven Cameron. The Titans responded taking advantage of a Tiger penalty, scoring a power play goal to close out the period at 1-1.

The Titans initiated the scoring in the second period to take the lead at 2-1. The Tigers responded with an unassisted power play goal from Cameron to even up the score at 2-2 ending the frame.

The penalties continued by both teams into the third period and it was the Tigers, at the 5:50 mark notching the game winning power play goal by Noffsinger assisted by Cameron and taking the lead at 3-2.  With the Titans pulling their goalie for the man advantage, senior Dan O’Malley closed out the season with one final goal giving the Tigers the 4-2 championship victory.

Standing strong in the net, junior goalie Claudia Kushon earns the win.  Congratulations to Coach Dominic Manz and the entire NA Inline team on another exciting and memorable season.
