Lady Tigers Tennis Blasts Hampton, 5-0
The North Allegheny girls’ tennis team earned its second straight section win by vanquishing the Hampton Talbots on Wednesday afternoon, 5-0. It was another dominant effort by the Lady Tigers, especially in singles play where junior Anna Li topped Abby Miller 6-1, 6-1, in #1 singles. At #2 singles, junior Tina Li defeated Sydney Leppet by scores of 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Ashley Huang swept Brooke Bailey with a 6-0, 6-0, victory at #3 singles.
In doubles action, seniors Tristyn Maalouf and Elena Kolano breezed past Celeste Conley and Shannon Scherer, 6-0, 6-0. Senior Julie Choe and freshman Riya Yadav were also triumphant with a hard fought 6-1, 3-6, 11-9, win over their opponents at #2 doubles.
North Allegheny improves to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in section action. The Lady Tigers set their sights next on the Penn-Trafford Warriors Thursday afternoon at home at 3:30 pm.
