Maddy Adams, Anna Li win Section 2-AAA Doubles Title
At the Section 2-AAA Doubles tournament on Wednesday, North Allegheny’s Maddy Adams and Anna Li claimed section gold and earned a trip to the WPIAL Doubles tournament on Wednesday, October 2. Also garnering a trip to the WPIAL tourney was the combo of Tristyn Maalouf and Tina Li who took third place at the tournament with a 7-5, 6-1, victory over Hampton’s Lucy Gloninger and Rachael Harrison.
Adams and Anna Li defeated Pine-Richland’s Yvon Martinez and Angela Consiglio, 6-2, 6-4, for the Section 2 Doubles title. To get to the title match, and in an interesting turn of events, Adams and Anna Li beat their Lady Tiger teammates, Maalouf and Tina Li in an outstanding semifinal contest. Adams and Anna Li outlasted their NA colleagues, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (8-6).
