The North Allegheny Tigers continued their winning ways and celebrated Senior Day with a 6-4 win against the Upper St. Clair Panthers on Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.

The Panthers struck first with a quick goal in the first minute of play while holding the Tigers scoreless through most of the period.  It was senior Logan Cerqua opening the scoring for the Tigers late in the period, assisted by sophomore Matthew Noffsinger, and senior Aidan Anthony netting a goal of his own with just under a minute to play in the first period.  The Tigers end the period up 2-1.

In a fast paced second period senior Tristan Soose netted a solid shot assisted by Anthony and Matthew Noffsinger found the back of the net as well assisted by senior Jacob Rice.  Senior Mitchell Ludwick added one additional goal for the frame but the Panthers managed to score while closing out the second with the Tigers leading by a score of 5-2.

With back and forth scoring in the final stanza, the Panthers continued to battle with an additional goal.  Late in the period it was Cerqua adding to the Tigers’ lead, with the Panthers scoring once more but coming up short.  The Tigers held on for the 6-2 Senior Day victory.  Sophomore goalie Claudia Kushon earns the win as the Tigers improve to 15-1 and will resume play next Sunday against the Penn Trafford Warriors at 5:00 at the Murrysville Sport Zone.

Best of luck and congratulations to all the seniors:  Aidan Anthony, Logan Cerqua, Declan Dadey, Christian Kushon, Mitchell Ludwick, Aiden Noffsinger, Jacob Rice and Tristan Soose.
