NA Punctuates Perfect Regular Season With Win Over Hollidaysburg
The North Allegheny girls’ tennis team concluded the regular season on Thursday afternoon with a 5-0 sweep of Hollidaysburg in a non-section triumph. The singles players for the four-time reigning WPIAL champions were again dominant. Freshman Ava Catanzarite, junior Ashley Huang and sophomore Rebekah Rest each claimed 6-0, 6-0, victories over their respective opponents.
In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Carolyn Tsung and Claire Shao topped Chloe Love and Paige Jodon, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Katherine Ambrose and Riya Yadav earned a hard-fought decision over Abigail Goodman and Jenna Sheetz by scores of 5-7, 7-6 (7-3) and 10-5.
North Allegheny finished the regular season with a perfect 15-0 overall record. The Lady Tigers will open the WPIAL tournament next week.
