NA Returns To Win Column With Sweep of North Hills
The North Allegheny girls’ golf team bounced back from its only loss of the season with a swift 5-0 sweep of the North Hills Indians on Thursday.
The Tigers dominated singles play with 6-0, 6-0, wins by seniors Emily Wincko and Abbey Swirsding at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. At No. 1 singles, junior Sara Fernandez was equally impressive with a 6-2, 6-0, triumph over Ellie Kim.
In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of Reagan Dougherty and Rebecca Murphy defeated Veronica Sciulli and Addie Seigworth with a clean sheet, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 doubles, it was Rebecca Kolano and Lucia Del Covillo with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Faith Koziowski and Laura McGoey.
North Allegheny leaps to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in section play. The Tigers will host Moon on Monday in another section contest.
