Tigers Beat Rams For 9th Straight Win

The North Allegheny Tigers held on for a 5-3 win, their ninth in a row, on Sunday against the Pine Richland Rams at the RMU Island Sports Center.

The Tigers opened the first period with a goal from senior Jacob Rice assisted by sophomore Matthew Noffsinger but the Rams responded with a goal of their own to tie the score at 1-1.  Rice notched a second goal for the period on a deflection shot from junior Steven Cameron closing out the period with the Tigers up 2-1.

The second period was all Tigers as they extended their lead with a goal from senior Aiden Noffsinger, assisted by senior Tristan Soose.  Closing out the period was Soose with a goal assisted by senior Mitchell Ludwick ending the frame with the Tigers leading 4-1.

In the third period the Rams continued to chip away adding two additional goals of their own cutting the Tigers lead to just one goal.  The Tigers held on adding an insurance goal from Rice assisted by Ludwick to seal the victory at 5-3.

Sophomore goalie Claudia Kushon earns the win as the Tigers improve their record to 14-1.  The Tigers continue play next Sunday against the Upper St. Clair Panthers at 4:00 p.m. at the RMU Island Sports Center.
