Tigers Drop Non-Section Contest to Reigning WPIAL Champs
Facing off against the reigning WPIAL Class AAA champions, the North Allegheny girls’ tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to the Peters Township Indians on Friday afternoon.
While the Indians swept the contest, the final score wasn’t indicative how close some of the individual matchups were. At No. 3 singles, junior Claire Zheng gave a valiant effort in a 6-2, 2-6, 2-6 loss to Adisyn Moorehead.
At No. 2 doubles, Rebecca Kolano and Siya Jain provided NA with its only win on the day, claiming a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 victory over Maddie Mackay and Abby Siconolfi.
North Allegheny falls to 2-3 overall on the season following the loss. The Tigers return to section play with a home matchup with the Hampton Talbots.
