Tigers qualify for PIAA Team Tournament with 3-2 win over Mt. Lebanon
North Allegheny traveled to Shady Side Academy High School to take on the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils in the WPIAL Third-Place Consolation Match. The winner of this match qualified for the state tournament while the loser’s season ended. After defeating the Blue Devils 3-2 in the regular season, NA repeated that performance for another 3-2 win. It is the Tigers’ first time in the PIAA Team Tournament since 2023.
Mia Kaufman won her #1 singles match by default.
Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai defeated Mt. Lebanon’s #1 doubles after being tested in the first set by scores of 7-5, 6-3. Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward battled in the second set and came away with a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
North Allegheny advances to the PIAA First Round where they will take on the District 4/6 Sub-Regional Champion on Tuesday, October 21 at a site and time to be determined.
