Tigers sweep Peters Township
North Allegheny hosted the Peters Township Indians at the North Allegheny High School tennis courts on Thursday afternoon. After a slower start to the season, the Tigers came out in full force against the Indians claiming a clean sweep, 5-0 victory.
Mia Kaufman won at #1 singles over Neve Zwzek by a score of 6-3, 6-1. Samantha Leeman and Alexa Richey both won in dominant fashion each picking up 6-1, 6-1 victories.
It was more of the same for the doubles teams as Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai defeated Peters’ first doubles team 6-1, 6-4 while Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward took down the Indians second doubles unit 6-1, 6-1.
North Allegheny improves to 2-2 overall. After four matches in four days, the Tigers will have the weekend off before returning to action on Tuesday when they travel to Upper St. Clair to take on the Panthers at 3:30 p.m.
