Visgitis Named Thiel Women’s Volleyball Head Coach

A former Tiger and professional volleyball player, Luke Visgitis, has been promoted at Thiel College.
The Tomcats announced on Wednesday that Visgitis, who spent the 2025 season as the associate head coach, has taken over as the head coach for Thiel Women’s Volleyball. He is the 17th head coach in the program’s history.

Last season as the associate head coach, Visgitis guided the Tomcats to a 17-win season as the team reached the PAC Tournament Semifinals.
Before arriving in Greenville, he served as a grad assistant at nearby Westminster College in 2024.
Visgitis played three professional volleyball seasons overseas before his coaching tenure in the sport. He spent one season with Viana VC in Portugal and two with VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen in Germany.
He was a multi-year standout at the University of Mount Olive, earning four All-Conference selections. Visgitis finished his Trojans career second in program history in career hitting percentage (.399) and blocks (304).
As seniors at North Allegheny in 2017, Visgitis and his twin brother Eric were part of a Tigers squad that went 22-1, capturing a WPIAL title and reaching the PIAA championship game along the way. Eric is still ranked fifth all-time at NA in blocks (230) and 18th all-time in kills (407). Luke ranks eighth all-time at NA in blocks (202) and 17th in kills (416). He also owns the best single-season hitting percentage (.575) in program history in 2017.
